My Garlic Motif

I did this last week on my silk crazy and I love this patch! I get so tickled when I look at it as a memory of living in Korea. Ha Ha! Garlic- forever immortalized on the patch of a crazy quilt. =)

Online and TAST

We have been offline so many times in the past ten days that I lost count. Talk about frustrating! Just when I was almost caught up with e mails etc, we lost service again.

I haven't done anything for the Cretan Stitch but have been doing stitches from past challenge weeks. This one was from the buttonhole. I really like this patch on my silk crazy.

Works in Slow Progress!

If you look to the left you can see I have joined the 'Works in Slow Progress' bandwagon. My goal is to have my silk crazy quilt done in 2007. I have more embellishing to do on the blocks done and need to add four more blocks and finish it up. I think I can do it if I put my mind to it. A worthy goal for the new year!

My Silk Crazy

Here are some pics of the blocks I have been working on lately. Each block is 12 inches and is the fabrics are 99.5 silk (I don't know how those other fabrics snuck their way in). I still need to make 4 more blocks to make it square. I have stitched on this while traveling this weekend and am pleased that I can actually see results. I am going to make this my '15 minutes a day' stitching project.

I am trying to stay away from beads on this quilt and make it mainly a stitching quilt as far as seams are concernted... some lace appliques and buttons have been added.

I hope to post all of the blocks in the coming days.

CQ Failure =(

Well, last night I put thread to fabric and am definitely not pleased. The herringbone stitch is okay, but Sharon wrapped the stitches with a thick thread and I DON'T HAVE any thick thread! The thickest I have is a pearl 8 and so I decided to wrap twice. My silk CQ is 'beadless' (stitches and lace only) so it really is lacking since the beads are such an integral part of the design. I improvised a bit with the colonial knots. I don't think I will rip the stitching out since it is a small seam and I will press on. I am sure the seam stitchery will get lost amongst all of the other stitches.

Of course human nature wants only to blog your best work- but I am defying it and posting this since it is my latest work. Talk about frustrating!
