Got it Figured Out!

I switched browsers from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox and it has fixed the problem. The speed of surfing is so much faster and I am able to upload pics which makes me a happy camper!

Here is a sampling of some of the charms I have recently organized using a traditional Korean pillow as my background. (The organization is another topic for another day! =))

  4. Hi Pam and Susan,

I shop anywhere and everywhere... but my main hunting ground is thrift stores. I have found wonderful mother of pearl buttons, and you can see from the pics, some of the pieces are fragonard limoges! I have found necklaces that were baroque pearls for 99 cents! They make wonderful crazy quilt embellishments!

From thrift store shopping I generally shop for silk fabrics from garments, buttons, lace, applique, jewelry cast offs that look interesting, and even tea cups to make pin cusions. The list is endless...... and it is so much fun! For five bucks you can have a bag of stuff... I must mention I wash everything when it gets home. If it doesn't survive washing, then I do not use it.

  5. You have such a nice selection of embellishments! I've hunted through the thrift shops in my area but all I usually find is junk. I do better at antique flea markets and antique shops. I really loved seeing your goodies!

  6. Maybe it has to do with the part of the country? I found gobs of things while I lived in Hawaii since the decor there was more modern and minimalistic. Victorian stuff was not really sought after there. And in Seattle I also found tons of stuff. Alot of the stuff in the pic is new, from swaps and thrift stores so I can't rule out ordinary retail too. =)
